Na passada quinta feira as cerejas da Quinta da Porta estiveram em grande destaque no Jornal da Noite, da SIC, durante a entrevista à Senhora Ministra da Agricultura.

Last Thursday night our cherries from Quinta da Porta  featured prominently in SIC’s (major Portuguese TV network) evening news, during an interview with the Minister for Agriculture.

Costumamos dizer que as conversas são como as cerejas. Pois bem, no meu caso, Isaiah Berlin é a maior e a melhor cereja do mundo. A entrada é livre e estão todos convidados!   Amanhã (Segunda-feira), pelas 18:30h, na Livraria Ferin.

We usually say that  conversations are like cherries. Well, in my case, Isaiah Berlin is the largest and best cherry in the world. Admission is free and you are all invited!    Tomorrow (Monday), at 18:30, at Ferin Bookstore.

Um reforço para a nossa equipa / A reinforcement to our team

Mercedes

Esta foi uma semana em cheio: não só começámos a colher as primeiras cerejas, como recebemos um reforço de peso para a nossa equipa: um belíssimo camião frigorífico Mercedes-Benz (que veio substituir a já velhinha DAF).

Vem-me à memória o clássico dos “The Hollies”:

This was a tremendous week: we not only started harvesting the first cherries, but we also received a heavy weight reinforcement to our team: a beautiful Mercedes-Benz refrigerated truck, (to replace the old lady DAF).

The classic of “The Hollies” comes to my mind:

He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I’m strong
Strong enough to carry him

So on we go
